Join us on March 3, 2020 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. p.m. at the Arden Park Community Center to learn new techniques to bridge the communication gap with your child. The workshop will consist of a 45-minute lecture followed by a 45 minute interactive session. The interactive session will include real life scenarios/topics, and a 15-minute Q&A.
· Learn why hard conversations don't have to be so hard
· Open the communication process by listening and asking the relevant questions
· Increase communication and decrease conflict
· Learn how to talk about the dangers and risk associated with use of social media
· Learn strategies to more effectively communicate with your teens regarding issues that matter
The workshop will be moderated by Laini Golden and Monica Shapiro who are both Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
Laini Golden, LCSW had been practicing for over 20 years. She is currently in private practice and has worked in a residential treatment facility, outpatient mental health as well as in the medical field. Laini's specialties include anxiety and depression in women, children and adolescents; giving teen and parenting seminars throughout the Sacramento and Davis Community.
Monica Shapiro has practiced in the arena of mental health for over 20 years and currently works as a psychiatric social worker at Sutter Center for psychiatry. Monica has experience facilitating group, individual and family therapy. Additionally, Monica develops and leads trainings in enhancing communication and pro-social behaviors.
