Cost:          $145/ $90 second child from the same family, to receive second                        child discount must register in office.
$25 material fee due first day of class to instructor.

Location: Community Center Room A

Music Together is an award-winning, research based early childhood music and movement program for children and their care givers. Each class consists of 45 minutes of songs, chants, dance and instrument play-alongs. The program is play-based and requires that adult model and participate in class. Materials Fee includes a song book, CD and download.


Summer Session

The Summer session is a collection of favorites from our songbook library.  For six weeks, we will dance and sing to songs like “Trot Old Joe,” “Allee Galoo,” and more!

Materials Fee includes a Summer Songbook, CD, and digital download.

 

Acting for Youth

Drama Kings & Queens Minis
Ages:     4-6 years
Date:     Wednesdays   April 4-May 23
Time:     4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Cost:       $100

Through theatre games and improvisation exercises  we will build confidence, imagination, teamwork, self-expression, spontaneity, and listening skills.  Children learn naturally through play and my goal is to create a fun, safe environment where kids are free to be creative and confidently express their ideas within a group.

Play –Well TEKnologies Camps

Robotics using the LEGO WeDo System
Ages:  6-9
Date:  June 11-June 15
Time:  1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Cost:  $134 Residents  $160 Non Resident

Build and program robots in this Robotics class using the LEGO WeDo system.  Learn programming skills, engineering concepts, and names of robot components.  Work in small groups to complete projects using tilt and motion sensors.  This is a great way to prepare young Robotics enthusiasts for more advanced Robotics programs.

 

STEM Challenge

Ages:  7-12
Date:  June 25 – June 29
Time:  1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Gear up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and thousands of LEGO parts!  Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through projects such as Forklifts, Houseboats, Mini Golf Courses, and the London Tower Bridge.  Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment.

 

Intro to STEM

Ages:  5-6
Date:  July 16 – July 20
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Give your imagination a boost with thousands of LEGO parts.  Build projects such as Cities, Garbage Trucks, Catamarans, and Dinosaurs.  Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment.

 

Jedi Master Engineering

Ages:  7-12
Date:  July 30 – August 3
Time:  1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Force Awakens in this advanced engineering course for young Jedi!  Discover key engineering concepts such as gear trains, worm drives, pneumatics, and eccentric motion.  Build projects using LEGO materials such as X-Wings, AT-AT walkers, Pod Racers, Star Destroyers, Cloud Cities, and other complex machines and structures from a galaxy far, far away.

Mad Science Camps

Radical Robotics
Ages:  8-12
Date:  June 18-June 22
Time:  1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m

Great Scott!  We need help to control our robots before they get the upper hand and take over the world!  In this camp you will program robots, interact with them and build a cool robot to take home.  Learn to control them with simple buttons, light, an easy graphical user interface and even your own voice!  A wide range of challenges await everyone from the mature beginner to the most experienced roboteer.  Get ready to fire up your skills of deductive reasoning and problem solving.  By the end you’ll have a new super-power to control robots everywhere!  (An additional fee of $30 for materials and your robot kit is due at the first day of camp.)

 

Science Rockstars
Ages:  6-12
Date:  July 9-July 13

Get ready to rock with science and wow the crowd with cool potions and chemical reactions.  Grow your own crystals, make sidewalk chalk, and a chromatography t-shirt to keep.  Picture yourself on stage as Sir Isaac Newton as we experiment with inertia and gravity and learn what football players, ballet dancers and scientists have in common.  Explore how equipment and movement work together to help you enjoy your favorite sports.  Then learn all about visual effects in photography and movie-making as we examine how cameras work, how film captures light and stores images, and how filmmakers make images move.  Finally, go mad with structures and machines as you build a geodesic dome you can sit inside.  Discover how simple machines such as pulleys, wedges, screws and levers make our lives easier and then build a catapult to keep.

 

NASA-Journey Into Outer Space

Mad Science and NASA have teamed up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in this new voyage of discovery.  See the principles of thrust and propulsion at work in a real rocket launch.  Explore the atmosphere on earth and beyond.  Watch star dust burn, and journey through a galaxy as you investigate the life cycle of stars.  Explore the farthest reaches of our solar system.
